Highland 24

The Highland 24 is a brand new event scheduled to start in late Summer 2009. Already there has been quite a buzz of excitement, not just from would be participants but from some big name sponsors too. Our aim is to substantially raise the profile of this event to make it a national attraction.

To give an idea of what is involved, the Highland 24 is an annual event set amongst some of the most dramatic and popular areas in Scotland, Glen Nevis, Glencoe and Loch Lomondside. Utilising the well known West Highland Way footpath, this is a team event designed to test endurance, strength and stamina both physically and mentally within a 24hr period. Participants do not need to be ultra fit to take part either as it's designed to suit all levels of fitness by having three finishing points, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Rannoch Moor

This event makes for a great team building exercise by bringing small groups together and helping them work, exercise and train together in preparation. The event will be particularly appealing to corporate organisations helping them in their 'Team Building Exercises'. The event itself will consist of up to four hundred plus individuals, mainly made up from various UK charities and private entries. Each team will be made up of four participants and two support members (drivers) utilising their own vehicles to transport themselves to and from each admin location along the Way.

The team support members will be completely self sufficient and responsible in the administration of fellow members throughout the 24hr period, including maintenance to the team mountain bikes and to provide them with such things as food, drink and dry warm clothing at the designated admin areas. The event will begin in the Highland town of Fort William in the beautiful setting of Glen Nevis under the shadow of the UK's highest mountain Ben Nevis. From here the teams will firstly set off on foot toward Glencoe along The West Highland Way to Reach their (Bronze Finish) transition point at Kingshouse in Glencoe. For those continuing, they set off by mountain bike across the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor through Bridge of Orchy and then onto the (Silver Finish) at the Highland village of Tyndrum. From here is the real test of stamina and fitness for the teams going for Gold set off again on foot toward the shores of Loch Lomond and the Gold Finish at the Lochside settlement, Rowardennan.
